The idea I had for this voice was "What if a Khajiit (cat humanoid from Skyrim) was a mad scientist?"
As for the emotional motivation, I thought about what the character was going through.
He was excitedly showing off his life's work, and then saw that work get destroyed along with a hundred of his friends right in front of him.
That's enough to invoke an intense and complex dynamic of fear, panic, betrayal, hatred, and a burning desire for heated vengeance.
I took scenarios from my own life where I experienced similar emotions on a smaller scale, mentally focused on and amplified those moments in my mind to get myself in the proper mind state, and then I delivered these lines through genuine angry tears as I got super in character for this role.
